“Scratchin’ the Surface”

Raising young female voices through the frame of sustainability.
In partnership with Northside Community Services, funded by TCCS ACT Government.


Scope
: Using only recycled materials, this street art workshop focused on 6 x 16-23 year old females from various schools across Canberra, workshopping the theme “Raise young female voices within the frame of sustainability”. I asked the question “What change would you like to see in the world, and what’s stopping it?”
Timeline: Two hour brainstorming workshop before full day workshop at Gunners Place. Artwork was on display at Ainslie + Gorman gallery during the course of Surface Street Art Festival, March 2022.
Team
: Artwork design and workshop facilitation by Bohie in partnership with Northside Community Services, assisted by Bonnie Porter-Greene. Video filmed and edited by Goodshout, including mentorship of local youth and media training for my workshop participants.

: Workshops took place at Gunners Place Youth Centre in Gungahlin ACT, final artwork went on display at Gorman + Ainslie Street Art Exhibition for Surface Festival, Canberra.
